Are you an experienced payroll professional with strong ADP and CalPERS expertise? Our client is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their team
About the Role
The Payroll Coordinator will manage payroll operations for approximately 500-600 employees, with a workforce consisting primarily of part-time student employees and a high-volume turnover environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and has experience handling complex payroll transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process two semi-monthly payroll cycles with a single pay date
- Audit and validate employee timecards
- Verify overtime with management and ensure payroll accuracy
- Process wage garnishments and payroll deductions
- Manage employees holding multiple positions and pay rates within the same pay period
- Prepare payroll reports and maintain compliance with applicable regulations
- Assist with payroll-related inquiries and issue resolution
Required Qualifications
? Bachelor's Degree required
? Minimum 3 years of payroll experience
? Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
? Experience working with CalPERS
? Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, garnishments, deductions, and payroll audits
? Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting nonprofit organizations
- Familiarity with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group)
- Experience processing payroll for large employee populations
Software Environment
- Current: ADP Workforce Now
- Future: UKG implementation planned (timeline subject to change)
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Flexibility to work between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM as business needs require
- Start Date: After successful completion of background check
- Duration: Temporary assignment until permanent hire is made
